When Sydney first cast his gaze across Druids Heath 23 years ago, he saw more than a community in need – he saw an opportunity to make a difference. As co-founder and Chairman of The Spearhead Trust, his vision of compassion and empathy has touched countless lives since 2001.

Known affectionately for wearing many hats, Sydney serves not only as our Chairman but also as our Head Cook and External Deliveries Coordinator. His hands-on approach extends from the boardroom to the kitchen, where he proves that sometimes the best conversations happen over a warm meal. As Pastor of the Home of the Free Church, his spiritual guidance complements his practical support, offering both nourishment for the body and soul.

Sydney's pioneering spirit led to the creation of our youth club, understanding that young people needed a safe space to grow and thrive. Together with his wife Dorothy, his role as a foster carer demonstrates his deep-rooted belief in providing care and support where it's needed most.
