Why This Project Matters
At Spearhead Trust, we have served the Druids Heath community for over 20 years. Every day, our small team works directly with families, children, young people, and elderly residents—offering practical support and a safe space to connect.
The majority of our core staff are women. While we do have some part-time male support, they are not always present. Our staff are often the first point of contact for anyone who walks through our doors, and sadly, this sometimes puts them at risk.
Recently, a member of staff was verbally abused at the entrance. She was left shaken and concerned for her safety. This incident made it clear that we need to make changes to better protect the people who are at the heart of our work.
What We’re Doing
We are fundraising to install a secure access system and CCTV at our premises to create a barrier between staff and the public. This will allow us to manage who comes into the building and give our team the ability to respond safely in difficult situations.
The total cost of this installation is £2,500. This includes:
This setup will not only improve security but also bring peace of mind to our team. They will be able to do their jobs knowing they are safer, more supported, and less vulnerable at work.
